Jeremy has worked and research on biofouling and antifouling since 1992. He was an Industrial Research Fellow of the Royal Society working on the modelling of marine biofouling on ships which has been patented in numerous countries. He is an inventor on 3 other patents in this field and editor of two text books, Biofouling and Biofouling Methods. He has worked as a consultant in this field since 1998 and is one of the few people with the combined knowledge of ships, coatings, biofouling, and marine environmental science.
Expert witness for claims for hull coatings and other biofouling - related claims.
Analysis of drydock and in-water hull surveys for the assessment of coating condition and biofouling.
Reconstruction of the bio-history of fouling on hulls, i.e., when did organisms foul the coatings and where. This is supported by our in-house models of the growth of biofouling on hulls in relation to environmental conditions.
Analysis of ship performance indicators in relation to measured and predicted biofouling.
Mapping and analysis of vessel tracks.
Advice on the risk of the transport of invasive species.
Design and analysis of trials for the testing of coatings.
Antifouling chemical fate modelling.
Field testing in a harsh tropical climate for antifouling and corrosion.
